HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Date of construction of the church: bells date from 1713 and 1730
Date of construction of the organ: 1721
Builder: unknown
Interventions: Reconstructed by José Tomás Renavidis in 1842, in which some registers were cancelled and wooden pipes were added to the upper part of the organ.
Inscriptions: On the rear panel of the organ: "Se estrenó heste órgano el dai deis de octubre del año de 1721/Siendo cura el MRPP Don F Antonio Valdela y Alcaldes de este pueblo Ignacio Martín y Jazinto Pérez Mayordomo del Sto. Christo Don Felis Ascenio. yofc a las de la República regidor Maior M? Luis Diego Nuñez, Manuel López, Domingo Marcos y Domingo Luis, Escrivano y organista de este pueblo Lorenzo Nuñez." and "Por disposición del Sr. vicario de esta parroquia Don José Mariano Bictoria se compuso y se pintó esta sant yglesia e igualmente se compuse este órgano por el Sr. Maestro Don José Tomás Benavidis. San Dionisio Ocotepec, 27 de Septiembre de 1842."
